iXon3 860
Thermoelectric cooling down to -100°C minimizes EM-amplified darkcurrent, whereas Andor’s ‘overclocked’ vertical shift speeds minimize both clock induced charge noise and vertical smear during frame transfer.
The iXon3 860 Back-Illuminated EMCCD benefits from an advanced set of user–requested features, including OptAcquire, Count Convert, Spurious Noise Filters & Signal Averaging. RealGain™ provides quantitative EM gain calibration. Sub-millisecond biology is readily accessible through use of sub-array selection, pixel binning and Cropped Sensor Mode pushes frame rates to new extremes. The speed and sensitivity of the iXon3 860 Back-Illuminated EMCCD camera also renders it ideal for adaptive optics.

Lambda-S Objective Series
Lambda-S Objectives employ Nikon’s unique Nano-Crystal Coat technology, an antireflective coating that virtually eliminates internal lens element reflections across a wide range of wavelengths. It is particularly effective in reducing stray light reflections and flare in high angle (large NA) lenses, enabling very high transmission rates over a broad range of wavelengths extending from the ultraviolet to the infrared. Nikon’s exclusive Nano-Crystal Coat employs multiple layers of extra-low refractive index coating, which features ultra-fine crystallized particles of nanometer size. This technology was developed for Nikon’s world famous Photolithography semiconductor manufacturing products and is now available for advancing the performance of microscope objectives.

Luca-R
Luca-R utilizes a monochrome megapixel frame transfer EMCCD sensor, providing single photon detection sensitivity and unrestrained QE (65% max), in a TE cooled, USB 2.0 camera platform. Andor’s exclusive RealGainTM EM gain control offers enhanced user-friendliness and quantitative reproducibility, setting a new precedent in day-to-day EMCCD use. The megapixel EMCCD sensor with 8×8µm pixel size is ideally suited to high-resolution fluorescence microscopy, particularly of photo-sensitive living cells. The extended red QE response of Luca-R is optimally matched to popular red-emitting fluorophores.
Andor’s Luca family represents the latest Electron Multiplying CCD innovation, a highly cost-effective yet powerful digital microscope camera making EMCCD available to every laboratory. Luca represents a new performance standard in ‘workhorse’ cameras. Operate EM gain off for conventional CCD operation under brighter conditions – turn on the EM gain when the photons become scarce.

Luca-S
Luca-S is designed with speed in mind. At 37 full frames/sec, direct through a universal USB2.0 interface, the LucaEM S interline EMCCD is a great digital microscope camera with which to upgrade performance in applications such as calcium signaling microscopy. Luca-S utilizes a 658×496 ‘interline frame transfer’ EMCCD sensor, providing single photon detection sensitivity with unrestrained QE, in a compact, TE cooled camera platform.

Mi Macro Imaging Station
The Mi macro imaging station provides the perfect environment for the capture of unfixed and fixed gross specimen images in the mortuary or path lab. It is ideal for pathologists in healthcare environments, veterinary, research and forensic laboratories.
The capture of gross specimens before cut-up is the first step in creating an entire pathology case history and provides a convenient point of reference that can enhance the interpretation and understanding of subsequent tissue sections. Images can be saved for use in case records, as part of an audit trail, and for annotation and use in downstream analyses and applications.
